Product Introduction

This product is a solution of penicillin and streptomycin, hence the name Penicillin-Streptomycin Solution, also known as "Double Antibiotics." It is a commonly used antibiotic in cell culture to prevent microbial contamination.

Penicillin acts by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively targeting Gram-positive bacteria. Streptomycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, thereby suppressing bacterial proliferation. It is primarily effective against Gram-negative bacteria but also shows efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria. The combination of penicillin and streptomycin provides broad-spectrum coverage against most bacterial contaminants.

The solution contains 10,000 U/mL of penicillin and 10 mg/mL of streptomycin, sterilized by 0.1 μm filtration. For use, add 1 mL of this Penicillin-Streptomycin Solution to every 100 mL of cell culture medium.

4. A yellowish appearance of the solution under correct storage conditions does not affect its antibacterial efficacy, and it can be used normally.
